"My chiropractic career began as a chiropractic patient at age 32. I experienced severe low back, leg and foot pain that came out of nowhere and immediately knocked me out of my active lifestyle of hiking, running, biking and walking. I followed the chiropractic care plan that my doctor recommended and all my pain disappeared. In addition, the migraines I had since age 9 went away and never returned. "

Dr. T’s chiropractic career began as a chiropractic patient . “I was attending college at Colorado State University in Fort Collins and I was completing my pre-coursework to become a physical therapist. I woke up one morning in August, 1995 with severe low back pain that took me to the floor. IT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE! There was no specific incident that caused it. In addition to the low back pain, I experienced pain throughout my hips, right leg, knee and pain all the way into my foot. I was so frightened because I had never felt anything like this before. I had odd and disturbing sensations of numbness and tingling into my right leg and foot. I just knew I must have a tumor or something. There had to be a really bad disease or something to cause this debilitating pain. I spent many sleepless nights with worry and concern about what was going to happen to me with this “dreaded disease” that had inflicted my body. Months prior and up until that first painful day, I was running 3-5 times each week, biking 6 miles back and forth to the college campus and hiking the amazing Colorado trails on the weekends…and then one morning later I lost my life giving lifestyle that I thrived on. My first thought was that the pain would go away on its own…but it didn’t. I consulted 15 of the top physical therapists in the country that I worked with at the time…my body was massaged, electrically stimulated, and exercised…these and a whole collection of other physical therapy techniques didn’t touch the pain. My back would get a little better and then it would be severe again…everyday was such a challenge because I had to sit through my college classes, attempt to sit some more to study, crawled to the bathroom at times due to pain and spent most of my time after school at home…“nursing” myself…complaining, crying and feeling so depressed about everything I wasn’t able to do anymore. My relationship suffered greatly…I had no friends… my entire focus was on my pain”.
“After eight months of struggling and waiting for the pain to go away, I was at a women’s health fair and I saw a chiropractor in her booth. I already knew everything there was to know about chiropractors and chiropractic...chiropractic was like voodoo…it was NOT SCIENTIFIC…chiropractors were uneducated...they didn’t know what they were doing...they would hurt me... A funny thing happened that day as I was watching this female chiropractor…she seemed normal… I watched her from a distance for quite sometime. I reached a point of desperation and sometimes I think I was being pushed from behind me by who knows what kind of force. I will never forget what she said after I told her my painful story…”come into my office and let’s see what we can do for you.” I had reached a willingness of an enormous capacity to do anything to get my life back…even try chiropractic. My chiropractic care began and I progressively felt better and better within a few short weeks. I reached a point when my chiropractor knew my body had recovered enough to start some kind of exercise. I began with a gentle walking program…it felt SO GOOD TO MOVE AGAIN…I had missed this so much. It took me eight months to reach a pain-free state and return back to my active lifestyle again…I never thought it would be possible. An additional surprise…I had had migraine headaches since I was 12 years old. I thought I would have them for the rest of my life because my father did. My migraines disappeared and never came back again”.
“Beginning chiropractic care was life changing for me in multiple ways. I was able to return to my running, my biking and my hiking…my fully active lifestyle. I knew there were others suffering just like I suffered…nothing else working for them…I decided to go to chiropractic college so I could help all of those people…I went to school so I CAN HELP YOU ALSO .”
“My story is like many others. My overall health and well-being improved dramatically and my active lifestyle was returned to me. I am committed to providing the same to whoever has the desire to receive the wonderful gift of chiropractic and what it’s like to reach full wellness potential. My personal intention is to assist your body to heal far beyond what you thought was possible”.
